Committed to your project and being a cog in your organisation
Going the extra mile in the support that we provide
Caring deeply about local community projects and giving back
Supporting business owners with all the paperwork/planning/organisation and grants to expand
Enabling you to do what you do best – run your business
What started as a passion for business quickly added support to community and charity organisations to support viability, sustainability and most importantly profitability to enable further investment. Throughout my career I have naturally had a ‘role’ but have always enjoyed being thrown in the deep end so have organically added many skills to my remit. This includes the following:
- Grant application management including research, full preparation and submission of application, monitoring & claims.
- Lead Support/Project Management for Premises Development/Build projects putting together all partners (directors, architects, contractors, planning team, grant body)
- Business Planning & Financial Forecasting to support bank loan and grant applications.
- Management Accounts along with training for inhouse to provide this
- Accounting systems support/training
About Us
Our passion and enthusiasm lies within finding projects and making them happen.
This has been the case for each business that we have worked for over the years along with the many businesses that I have worked for whilst working within an accountancy practice.
Never a shy bairn but always a professional one I have teamed great finance and business knowledge to offer services that businesses really need.
To mention setting up in business is a powerful speech – a proud moment for me and a transition that has felt very smooth as I have always been so passionate and committed to my clients.
Supporting Montalbo Primary School
When I took maternity leave for my second son (a lot earlier than planned due to complications) I offered support to my sons school (Montalbo Nursery & Primary School – literally the best primary school in the world). I worked with the Headteacher Mr Minikin (who is wonderful) to develop an outdoor railway garden. This was such a lovely experience, I was at school nearly every day with George (newborn at the time) in his Bjorn carrier meeting with contractors and organisations to support with grants etc along with liasing with assets and planning at the local authority. What we achieved in that year and a half was fantastic.
This project sparked something in me, what if I did this for work?
What if I could offer this to businesses locally to help them achieve projects for expansion?
Why GEM?
In an ode to powerful women in business GEM stands for Gwyneth Edith Maureen, a sentimental note to a woman I fiercely respected along with standing for my powerful message to Go the Extra Mile.
Gwyneth would have told me to go for it, as did her daughter, my mother – who I am so proud of. To any woman underestimating herself – no matter what is holding you back – trust yourself.
